My friends and I went to Fontainebleau Diner for breakfast. When we arrived we noticed that parking was busy, but due to the large lot size there were plenty of spots available. The inside of the diner is large, with an abundance of tables. We were seated immediately and the service was quick as waters were brought to us as soon as we were seated. The menu was large with many options, including vegan and gluten free. The all day breakfast menu was our favorite. We each ordered a different meal and everything came out quickly and was delicious. I would most defiantly recommend the omelets as they were a highlight of the visit. The diner had a modern feel to it, but the booths allowed for it to maintain its diner charm. We stopped in for dinner on a Friday night as we were in the area shopping. We had complete dinners so they came with soup, salad, a drink and dessert. My husband had a fried flounder platter. It came with fries and a vegetable. I had fried shrimp, with mashed potatoes and a vegetable. The food was tasty and plentiful. The service was good.
I've been to this diner twice before, the first time mid-afternoon and the second time early in the morning with a large group. Both times, the diner was relatively empty, so we had no problem being seated, More recently, I went with a large group, so we had to be split between two tables. We were offered free hot coffee, which I greatly appreciated. I ordered the eggs benedict and I do admit that the presentation could be improved upon, as the food appeared a bit messy, especially with the hollandaise sauce. Otherwise, I enjoyed my meal and my friends also seemed to like their breakfast as well! Overall, this was your standard diner and the meal itself wasn't too bad!
So we walked in at 8:35pm and we were greeted a bit gruff. They promptly informed us they close at 9pm. I am not used to restaurants turning a meat customers. Usually they will seat you if you come in the door right up till the stated time they close. Over all we had good food and they were fairly quick.
Above average Jersey diner in Piscataway. Best breakfast place within miles. Great omelettes and coffee. Clean and good service. A go to place.
